I help creative people navigate the complex world of making a living off their craft.

As a steward of the arts and former artist manager, I have unique insight into the lives of creatives who may feel misaligned with therapists who do not possess first-hand experience of the complexities of the entertainment business.

I landed my first music job at age 16 as a retail clerk at an independent record store (back when those existed). Fifteen years later and well into my career as an artist manager in NYC, I was plagued by a series of unfortunate events which included a break-up with a toxic work environment, a near-death experience, and a revelation that led me to put a pause on my globe-trotting music lifestyle to explore my inner world.

While in my own therapy, I realized I had been ignoring my artistic and analytical mind and I needed to shift careers to embrace these strengths. I’ve lived in three different countries and the major entertainment hubs of London, Los Angeles, NYC, and Sydney.

I am endlessly curious and passionate about a multitude of seemingly unconnected things: psychology, creativity, spirituality, quantum physics, fitness, marine biology, neurobiology, indie rock to dub music, and philanthropy.

I love being a therapist. It’s an enormous gift to assist people in reconnecting with themselves and regaining their voice. That includes your unique set of strong suits, your personality, your sense of humor, and your spirit. Your gifts and your obstacles give you the power to change your life.

My Approach

I believe psychotherapy is a craft requiring art + science and a creative, collaborative, attitude. In our sessions together, we will dig deep into patterns that may be aiding or delaying the outcomes you desire for your life. You must be ready for a challenge and bring your whole self to the table if you want to see positive changes. I get down to brass tacks quickly and I don't glaze over awkward or embarrassing topics. I have a sense of humor, which helps during uncomfortable moments.

My approach melds the cognitive and creative, offering a repertoire of resourceful, intuitive, and innovative tools to our work together. We might discuss your negative automatic thoughts and learn how meaningless yet intrusive they are. We may analyze and attend to your innermost fears, dreams and insecurities. To counter-balance this, I can teach you how to be more mindful, ground in nature, and listen to the wisdom of your body and intuition. I firmly believe in a strength-based approach, which includes recognizing your innate talents, giving yourself a dose of self-compassion, and practicing techniques that calm body and mind. Practical guidance away from “over-analysis paralysis” into taking “the next best step” is also a specialty of mine—I can’t help but wear my solution-focused manager hat at times and I’ve used this approach to help countless clients gain access to better community resources and tools to level up their lives.

I let you tell me who you are. I see you as a human, trying to survive and find purpose, inspiration, acceptance, and love - just like everyone else. Trusting the unknown, finding beauty in the little things, and trading the fear of uncertainty for the freedom to thrive - that’s what it’s all about. And icky stuff from your past? You’ll learn to honor it and let it guide you to important places so that it doesn’t drag you down anymore.

I believe you can change, grow, and trust yourself to create a beautiful life. I believe you can regain your voice and vision, as well as a sense of self-worth, calm, and freedom. I wouldn’t do this work if I didn’t.
