Samson Shulman, M.A., AMFT - in person and online, Santa Barbara & Los Angeles, CA
I believe in the transformative power of art and deeply understand the challenges creatives face—addiction, anxiety, procrastination, and the search for identity in an ever-evolving world. With over 15 years in the music industry—including roles at Interscope, Atlantic Records, The Tonight Show, and as an artist manager—I combine industry insight with a master's in clinical psychology. This unique blend allows me to offer a holistic, personalized approach as a therapist and substance use disorder counselor, helping artists find clarity, resilience, and creative fulfillment.
Andy Studer, M.A., AMFT - online, Culver City, CA
I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist with an MA in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University and a BFA in Music Composition from CalArts. Before becoming a therapist, I worked in the entertainment industry as a string arranger and violinist, collaborating with artists such as Yuna and Kevin Olusola, and performing on platforms like NPR’s Tiny Desk. As a certified Suzuki violin educator, I’ve worked with hundreds of families, integrating music pedagogy into distinct family systems.
My work as a therapist is deeply informed by my background in the arts. I take a trauma-informed, attachment-based approach that is person centered and grounded in depth psychology. I have extensive experience working with adolescents and families at The Maple Counseling Center, supporting clients in exploring their gender, neurodivergent, and multicultural identities.
Having been raised by a first-generation immigrant mother, I understand the complexities of navigating a multicultural existence within current, dominant societal narratives. I work as an advocate for LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC clients, and strive to create a therapeutic process rooted in compassion, creativity, and mindfulness—one that is ultimately life-affirming.
Teri Langer, MSW, ASW (she/her) - online & in person, Los Angeles, CA
Teri works with fast minds, heavy hearts, and creative spirits — people who are self-aware yet still feel stuck, dysregulated, or exhausted from carrying more than most can see. Her integrative approach blends traditional modalities such as ACT, CBT, and IFS with somatic practices like Brainspotting and energy-based work. This allows individuals to ease survival patterns, release energetic blocks, and reconnect with clarity, balance, and self-trust.
As an associate psychotherapist, Teri’s style is collaborative, intuitive, and trauma-informed. She creates a spacious and attuned environment where people can soften patterns like looping thoughts, perfectionism, or shutdown, and begin moving toward lasting change.
Before becoming a therapist, Teri spent over two decades working with adults with developmental disabilities and autism — serving as a director in social service agencies and leading human resources and training initiatives. She has coached executives, facilitated education for service providers, and advocated for neurodivergent and marginalized communities. This work shaped her core values of accessibility, dignity, and honoring each person’s unique inner world.
